Valentine Sales Project

Organizing Chairperson: Leo Pearly Yue
Assistant OC: Leo Chew Yi En
Project Treasurer: Leo Chow Sin Yee

Brief Objectives:
1. To raise funds for the Leo Club
2. To give an opportunity for students to express their feelings towards their loved ones
3. To enable those who are involved to gain experience in handling a project

Brief Description of Project:
On the 8th February 2010, Leo Club of SMK Seksyen 4 Bandar Kinrara came up with a project to enable students to express their feeling towards the other sex without being shy or timid. Through our Valentines Day Sales, students will order a pack of assorted sweets provided by our Leo Club and insert their intended message to the receiving party. Then, we will deliver the sweets to the rightful recipients. At the end of the project, we were satisfied with our efforts as messengers of love or in other words, cupid. It was truly a meaningful project as we are able to gain experience in doing a sales project and to deliver valentines gifts without the gifts being confiscated by our disciplinary teachers.

Recycling Project: Green Up

Organizing Chairperson : Leo Chong Yu Xuan
Assistant OC : Leo Tan You Ken
Project Treasurer : Leo Chow Sin Yee

Brief Objectives:
It will be a long term project to collect unwanted useful wastes and convert them into cash.
To try to make the school cleaner by helping them collect plastic bottles and aluminum cans.

Brief Description of Project:
A group of three students from our Leo club will be dispatched every Wednesday and Friday after school hours to collect plastic bottles and aluminum cans that are scattered throughout the whole school compound. The cans and bottles will then be flattened in order to maximize the space in the boxes which store these wastes. These boxes will then be kept in a specific room to avoid getting stolen. The boxes are then brought to the recycling centre to exchange for cash.

Cleaning the Maths Room

It was a school service project, therefore no OC had been elected. Quite a number of our Leo members turned up to show their support in this voluntary project. This project is a small one and comes with only one objective - to make the maths room cleaner for the usage of the school as an additional classroom etc.

A few photos:

Lots of work had to be done including wiping the tables and chairs, rearranging them and cleaning the windows.

The main objective is to gather at least RM300 for the SPCA. In addition, we wanted to help out our teachers. At 2.00pm, our fellow Leos’ gathered at Anjung A. All members were briefed on which car to wash and the safety precaution not to scratch or damage the paint of the respective teachers’ cars. At the end of the project, signs of satisfaction were written on everyone's face. We certainly did a good job, as the teachers were satisfied with our service too. The donations collected will be channeled directly to the SPCA. It was truly a meaningful project that was able to build up our team sprit as we toiled in the blazing sun and all of us cooperating to get the job done.
